Bukavu ConferenceTraining Pastors and Church Leaders to Bring Peace and Reconciliation to Congo DR
Biblical reconciliation and worldview training is spreading into war-torn areas of Congo DR as well as parts of Burundi. We continue teaching a Biblical worldview and wholistic ministry through the Samaritan Strategy Africa curriculum. This is critical to the development of a society that lives in peace and reconciliation. The training from AESD, a group in Rwanda offering a 6-week course in leadership development, asset analysis and finance, will assist in the growth of small businesses and community development. This type of collaborative effort envisions hundreds of new jobs, is sustainable and replicable, and is locally owned and managed. We are blessed to be a part of this kind of new thinking!

People were very excited about the materials presented at these training events. One very experienced pastor with a Masters degree in Theology said, “. . . no one taught me what I have learned this week.... We can’t liberate our people from dependency and poverty without learning these materials. We were told that we will have to suffer in the world and we have accepted that as truth to be believed... Thank you facilitators! We have done a part of what we have to do. I invite you to come back for a Training of Trainers...”
As one of our trainers writes, “An authentic and practical Christianity must characterize the Church of Congo in general to have a free and just Congo.” We pray that this will be so.
