Power Revival Centre is a branch of Outreach Community Church with a vision to bring a godly change in Soweto Community, Nairobi, Kenya, Africa and the whole world. Called to help fulfill the great commission by preaching a holistic Gospel, they encourage members to be creative, work with their hands and to trust God to bless. A community-based project to improve the living standard of church members and the community at large, the bio-intensive kitchen gardening project targets marginalized women living in the Soweto slum to grow enough vegetables for their household through training them in bio-intensive kitchen gardening and small-business management. Currently 220 households are targeted to be self reliant in household food. A secondary goal is to help provide nutritious vegetables to people living with AIDS who are already identified in their church, either as members or as PLWAs from the community.
Monday Church Initiative
The world, communities and families are horribly broken. The church is largely disengaged from society and withdrawn into the walls of a building.
Our contention is that the end purpose of the church gathered is to prepare and equip the church scattered to extend the Kingdom of God into all sectors of society. The church should be the conscience of the nation and influence change in society. God intends to reconcile all things in and through Christ, from ourselves to our families, communities and nations.
Monday Church is a joint initiative undertaken with the Disciple Nations Alliance. The goal of this initiative is that leaders who attend the Monday Church Conference will return home to train, equip, anoint and send out the entire congregation to be the church in the marketplace, the church on Monday, and will begin to dialog with the leaders of other congregations so that the "church in the city" may become a transformational agent for the city and the nation.
