We are convinced that when young leaders are trained, coached and given tools and resources, they will become God’s sustaining agents of transformation in their nations. Samaritan Strategy West Africa trains these young leaders with the requisite tools to minister with their own resources to individuals, families and communities physically, socially and spiritually bringing true transformation and development to their communities. By promoting a wholistic Christian witness, Samaritan Strategy has been able to envision leaders and pastors in Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Mali and Liberia. One goal is to multiply the trainers so that they will be able to teach pastors and leaders in their own countries to engage in replicable, sustainable community development without relying on outside resources. This will allow the people of West Africa to see God’s intentions for their lives in tangible ways that wholistically meet their needs.
Breakthrough Tools
The Breakthrough Partners strategy for transformation comes through working to
Connect - People to People, People to Ideas, People to Prayer, Tools and Resources for transformational work.
Coach - Encourage, train and mentor leaders in God-honoring wholistic transformational partnership.
Consult - Advise leaders in the design and execution of effective and biblical structures and strategies that demonstrate God's love for the whole of life.
Breakthrough Process Training Kit:
A training course made up of 10-12 video DVD teaching sessions of 40 minutes each along with a teacher's manual and study guides that address the following concepts:
- Teaching a Biblical view of life.
- Equipping the people for wholistic service.
- Training in asset-based development.
- Fostering servant leadership that seeks the well-being of the whole community.
- Cultivating the sustainability factors of the local church.
- Innovating strategies that heal the systemic brokenness of society.
- Facilitating collaboration and partnership.

The Leadership Institute for Community Transformation:
Identifying and training leaders who will in turn train and coach others. Projected as a 4-day seminar, we will work through groups and relationships to identify:
- Leaders who will engage groups in their own communities for transformation.
- Leaders who will adopt a community and have relationship with an indigenous leader or team of leaders, who will be coached, mentored and trained.
- Leaders who want to be part of a team in an indigenous context who will go in and cultivate relationship within that community in a friendship/mentor/training role with those people.
Indigenous training will take place to prepare for these relationships through ALICT or other appropriate training such as that of the Africa Working Group.
Church training and consulting:
Identifying and training churches that will be effective kingdom-building churches. Change the operating paradigm of internally focused church growth to thinking how to be agents of transformation both locally and globally. Equip churches to make an impact, to think differently in how they mobilize and equip their people, and to surface people who will be leaders in long-term community transformation initiatives. Community Transformation Partnerships:
Coaching/consulting with leaders of and leaders in coalitions of churches who are working together for the wholistic transformational development of their communities or nations (intentionally strategic). Our task is to take leaders who have been trained in community transformational development and connect them to indigenous leaders who have also been trained and prepared. They will partner and collaborate to help transform a whole community or region. Coaching, consulting and connecting will increase the effectiveness and capacity of the local transformational work.
